Do you ever feel like you don't know how you are going to make it through the next month, because you are so unbelievably busy? That is how I felt a week ago when I decided to go visit my friends in the Bay before it all got too busy. Then I was told that my job was ending three weeks early; yesterday was my last day. Oh, and that other job I interviewed for. . . "You are great, we really thought you were an A+ and perfect for us! But with you having Student teaching in the Spring, we decided to go with someone else." :(I decided to file for unemployment. While I will still get called in as a teacher's aide substitute occasionally, and as a lifeguard at the Y, it doesn't replace 30 hours a week.
I started my second Graduate class last Monday, and let me tell you, they are hard! Not that the content is difficult, they just expect so much! I am happy to say that I got into all three classes I needed this Fall to apply to the Credential program for Spring!
I have my CBEST teacher's proficiancy test at 8 am on 8/8. I'm hoping that is lucky. It's really lucky in China, right? I have to do classwork online all week, but I'm hoping to at least get in a couple of the practice tests I bought over the next week. If I pass these tests, I can apply as a Substitute teacher! I would love to do this, as I think it would be great practice for student teaching, and it pays a little better than being a teacher's aide sub.
On top of all this, Tim wants a house, and I want a baby. I had a horrific week in July where I could barely walk from uteris pain. And we are already struggling with money. I don't think we need to think about these things until January, or even May. I hope the house comes first though. They are so cheap right now, it would be great to have our own home before we become parents. And it would be great to use the six months I will have off between credentialing and when a school job starts to have and spend time with our future baby.
I guess we'll see where life takes us, because we never know what will happen.
