Busy, Busy, Dizzy. . .

I wasn't aware that life could have gotten any busier when I typed my last blog about never being able to catch up on my work. But between April 13 and today, I have had little to no break.

So, if anyone read through that, you can see why I am hoping they don't call me in to work tomorrow. I really need four days off to write the 5 papers due on Tuesday! Two for Education, one for Social Science, one for Political Science, and one extra credit for Plant and Soil Science (to make up for one I missed). I just want one day where I don't have to drive anywhere or type anything!

Senioritis?

So, I haven't done my home work in weeks. Well, I have done some errant reading when I knew there would be reading quizzes, and I wrote one short essay(of three). I just can't get into. I don't know what's wrong with me. Depression, confusion, burnt-out, messed-up schedule, or just run-of-the-mill Senioritis. You know, that affliction that usually attacks high school seniors right before they are done. All they want to do is skip class and reminisce. But I am not a high school senior. I am in my 17th year of school, a College Senior, ready to start my career, already in the throws of adulthood. Let's look at the facts. . .

The second week of March I had mid-terms, so I had to study and write papers for those. That is the last time I did serious HW. After that I was driving my mom back and forth from the hospital to see my grandma, and helping her around her house after her surgery. Then, I stayed at my grandma's house basically waiting for her die and reading a novel to distract myself from crying all the time. So, 10 days of not studying.

Them my grandma passed. I wasn't crying anymore, but I wasn't feeling anything else either. I told my teachers what happened, and they were understanding. Gave me extensions and offered office hours to discuss the work. One teacher suggested dropping, but with all my six classes required for graduation in six weeks, that wasn't an option.

So, I did a little bit of studying, but still couldn't get into it in the week leading up to Grandma's memorial. After the memorial, I was feeling things, but my whole rhythm had been interupted. How do you get back into a pattern of life when a main part of your life is gone?

That Friday I chose to go on a spur of the moment trip to see my friend, and also decided to see my mom and grandpa. That led to my car accident (see blog entry below). I have never been in an accident, and it really messed me up. Like, how many more things can go wrong?

Now, back in school, able to try and get into the pattern of life again, I just can't seem to do it. I have papers open on my screen waiting to be researched and written. Prompts at the top of the page, book on the desk, unread. I can't seem to make myself study. I am one who has never had to try for B's, and hope for A's with little extra effort. Not because I'm so much smarter than everbody else, but because studying was just part of life, not an extra effort. This semester, I am hoping for C's.

So, what is it holding me back? Depression? Maybe. Laziness? Probably. Burnt-out? Deffinately. Senioritis? Who knows. . .

Bad things come in threes

So, my plan for Friday, April 3, 2009:

~Get up at 8:30, shower, dress, head out by 10 at the latest.
~Go to my Health Center apt. at 10:45.
~Go to my Gyno. apt. at 12:00.
~Call my mom and see how my gandpa's surgery for his eye went.
~Drive to Roseville to see my friend, with an hour to spare before she is off work to walk around the big mall.
~Then look at wedding dresses with her.
~Come home.

What happened:

~Woken up at 7:00 by all the animals out of their pens, took a while to wrangle them all back in, no shower, left at 10:10.

~Running late to my health apt. First came the nurse, who, after I told her my grandma passed away two weeks earlier and my grandpa was having surgery that day, she said, "You know, these things come in threes." Um, thanks.

~Get told by the doctor that they have no clue what is wrong with me, my leg hurts, but "that sucks, live with it."

~Head to my Gyno apt, get lost, make it there only just in time. Then they say, "No, you aren't pregnant, no, you don't have cancer, yes, you lactate, get used to it." Um, so that's good news right?

~Call my mom and find out they are staying in Sacramento because my Grandpa had a severely detached retina and can't travel yet.

~I decide to go to Sacramento for an hour. I get there, visit for an hour or so.

~I end up leaving at 5:30 on a Friday (stupid) to head to see my friend 15 minutes down the road. I got less then 1 mile from the hotel on the Highway, and the traffic came to a sudden stop, I rear ended the car in front of me.

~My car is so bent in front that you can't see the grill. I'm freaking out, never been in an accident, but decide that I should just drive to Roseville since nothing was leaking or anything.

~The hood came up while I was driving and shattered my window when I was in the middle lane on a bridge. Even more freaked out then.

~I had to have my car towed, my mom came to stay with me since I would have been stranded in a parking lot for an hour, and then my friend came and got me.

~We did go dress shopping, and out to a bar, and that cheered me up, but I needed a muscle relaxer to sleep, and my body still hurts.

Basically, I hate Sacramento. I'm thankful that I wasn't hurt more than a few tiny cuts and soreness, and that no one else was hurt. Hopefully, this is third thing, and things will be better now.
