In early November, Tim agreed that it was time to move closer to our jobs and be more independent from family, so we got a new place in Paradise! It is so great to be on our own again, you can't really feel like independent adults when you are living in family homes, as we were for the past 2 years. So now we have a two bedroom home with a yard for our dogs, and we are much closer to work and school!
Shortly after moving in, Lily had her litter. We now have two Black and Brindle males and two Brindle female Dachshund puppies! They are so cute, but a lot of work. And they won't be 8 weeks until January 14th. Jasper is loving having a yard to roam around in with a door to get back into the garage, and we are loving not having to let him in after only 30 seconds to avoid him getting out. Cece is doing good, though she is always trying to get outside to the garage. I don't' want her getting out before she is fixed. We plan on fixing Lily and Shelby in January :)
We went to my dad's for the Monday before Thanksgiving and got to see my aunt's and grandparents, which was so nice! Then we spent Thanksgiving at Tim's dad's. We did miss out on Tim's Aunt's big Thanksgiving, but we decided to go with who invited us first, and the shorter drive away from the week old puppies.
At the end of November, Tim was getting even more frustrated with furniture sales. They made it almost impossible for him to get above minimum wage. So after he called me one day and asked if I would look for him, I submitted his resume to Terminex, a home inspection company, and they called him that day for an interview. He started there on December 1st, then did training the second week of December. He was in Burlingame all week! Today he is in Sacramento taking his inspector tests!
My brother is back in Afghanistan, but will soon be going to Germany for medical treatment from a pre-existing condition. While I hate that he has to have surgery, I love that he will be far away from bombs for a time.
As for me, I am still working as a nanny 2-5 days a week, as well as subbing about 1-2 times a week, and getting unemployment to make up the difference! My finals are this week, and I'm glad I only have two tests to take. Last week I got my Student Teaching placement at a local Middle School. I am very excited to get started with this, but also extremely nervous about having to teach! I start on January 4th!
This Christmas Tim will have a 4 day weekend for the first time since he was laid-off, so we get to spend Christmas Eve with my dad, Christmas Day with my mom and grandpa, then the day after with Tim's mom. And I am looking forward to two weeks off before I start Student Teaching.
